The purpose of this Candidate Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy (“Policy”) is to establish candidate requirements regarding Artificial Intelligence during Varsity Brands’ recruiting process. Candidates for any employment position with Varsity Brands (including all Varsity Brands subsidiary and affiliated companies) are prohibited from using Artificial Intelligence (AI) during the recruiting, interview, and hiring process. The following is not an exhaustive list of prohibitions but are examples of prohibited candidate conduct. Candidates may not use AI: to draft their resume, to complete their application(s), to respond to written interview questions, to participate in or to record the recruiter screening process, or to participate in or to record the interview process. Candidates’ recording of any part of the recruiting process and candidates’ use of third-party resources (e.g., communicating with another person) during the screening and interviewing process is prohibited, regardless of whether AI is used. Failure to comply with this Policy may result in disqualification from the recruiting process. Candidates may be asked to affirm their compliance with this Policy.
While candidates are generally prohibited from using AI during the recruiting process, we are committed to fostering an inclusive hiring environment. Candidates may be permitted to use assistive technologies, including AI, as an accommodation for a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”). Any candidate in need of an accommodation must contact their recruiter or hiring manager in advance and may be asked to describe how the accommodation requested supports their needs.
As used in this Policy, “Artificial Intelligence” is defined as computer systems, computer programs and/or machines that are programed to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as analyzing, learning, creating, and problem solving. Examples of Artificial Intelligence tools are ChatGPT, CoPilot and Google Bard.
If you have any questions about this Policy, please contact your recruiter or hiring manager.
